The
Shipwrights Co-op is located in Port Townsend, on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula.
About a two-hour drive from Seattle, Port Townsend is a popular destination
for tourists and for boaters. The Victorian-era downtown offers a wide variety
of shops, restaurants, and historic hotels.
The Port of Port Townsend’s Boat Haven is the larger
of the two local marinas accessed from Port Townsend Bay and Admiralty
Inlet. Our location in Boat Haven provides us with access to small and
large (60, 70 and 330-ton) travel lifts, high-pressure washdown facilities,
and the convenience of a full-service marina. For more information on
the Port, visit http://www.portofpt.com.
Our facilities include a metal fabrication shop, 3
woodworking shops, a 2,800 square-foot workshop, and our offices. We have
several mobile shelters, and in early 2005, we completed construction of
a 3,740 square-foot building that can accommodate vessels up to 65 feet
in length in an enclosed and heated workspace. PTSC also has 40' of
dock space that we can lease directly to smaller boat customers. The
Port of Port Townsend has dock space for much larger boats if needed
for temporary moorage and/or if we need to work on the boat in the
water. In addition to our Co-op members, we have the resources
of Port Townsend’s
expert marine tradespeople, including sail lofts, machine shops, prop repair,
foundries, and marine supplies.
