Electrical

Electrical systems are a large part of the Co-op’s business, with our expert Chris Brignoli leading a team of three qualified electricians. Chris has 30 years of experience, is ABYC certified, and specializes in electronics, corrosion, and systems. He is highly regarded in the field. Marine electronics work has become more complex with the emergence of additional modern components. Navigation equipment, such as computerized charts, GPS, and radar, are common. Some vessels carry specialized technical equipment, such as research instruments or advanced monitoring devices. Safe and reliable operation of the electrical system depends on the use of appropriate parts for your specific vessel. The Co-op can assess your needs to design and install the best system for your boat.
Wood

Our talented craftsmen use fine joinery to enhance the ambiance of your vessel's accommodations, adding visual impact and beauty, while making the interior more durable and functional. The traditional use of mahogany, teak, and cedar is now combined with other options, such as jatoba or sapele. These woods are attractive, sturdy and extremely rot-resistant. Joinery techniques add structural integrity to the woodwork. The Co-op can transform cabinets, shelves, settees, and navigation tables from utilitarian furnishings into works of art.

Metal

The Co-op’s sophisticated metal work was demonstrated by the modification of Pacific, a steel trawler yacht. The 60-foot-long hull was lengthened by 8 feet in order to increase stability, add freeboard, and a state room. Our master shipwrights cut the boat in half just forward of the wheelhouse and filled in the opening with a new metal structure. The fine metal work seamlessly blended the new structure with the old, creating a vessel capable of withstanding the rigors of extended open-ocean passage making or inshore cruising. Our skilled shipwrights can accomplish any diverse metal project for your vessel.
Mechanical

The Co-op can accomplish any task; from a 500 horsepower John Deer to a 25 horsepower Yanmar. Our team of mechanics, Martin Mills and Todd Lee, have over 50 years of combined experience in marine mechanics. They fabricate, install, and repair all components of any system to ensure a steady performance. The propulsion, drive and fuel distribution systems, as well as the appropriate gauges and monitoring systems on your boat can be a substantial investment. Our shipwright’s will assist you when selecting the appropriate equipment to insure that your boat runs smoothly and efficiently.
Systems

Well-designed, properly installed and maintained systems are essential to the safety and comfort of both your vessel and your crew. Hydraulics, heating and cooling, plumbing, hydraulic steering systems, and refrigeration have their own demands and requirements, which must be integrated. Our shipwrights fabricate, install, and repair all components to ensure an effortless operation. Whether you are starting with a new installation, replacing the old or repairing your existing system, the Co-op will guide you in making the correct choices.
Spars and Rigging

At the Co-op, the shipwrights will work with you to design and install the right rig for your needs, whether you're planning a pleasure cruise or a commercial fishing venture. We build any size wooden spar, hollow or solid. Our shipwrights can assist you in selecting the best material for your spars. We custom fit roll stabilizer poles, trolling lines, net trawl equipment, trap gear, cranes, and hoists. These elements are properly built to your vessel in order to work efficiently and safely.
