The Co-op also regularly services steering systems, both mechanical and hydraulic. We are able to fabricate, install, or repair all components of these systems to ensure their trouble-free operation.

The propulsion systems on your boat include the engine, transmission, propeller, drive shaft, and various seals and bearings. On larger vessels, the engine and drive system can account for a substantial investment. Choosing the right equipment is the first step.

Any vessel with an engine will need a fuel distribution system. Requirements vary depending on the type of fuel (gas or diesel), the size and type of motor, and the size and location of the fuel tankage. The appropriate gauges and monitoring systems will enable you to keep an eye on the operation of your engine and fuel supply.

Selecting the right diameter, pitch, and style of prop and the appropriate drive shaft will help your boat run smoothly and efficiently, with minimum vibration and maximum fuel economy. We work with a local propeller shop to refurbish or repitch smaller props; larger props are serviced in Seattle.

Whether you are starting from scratch with a new installation, replacing an old system, or repairing your existing system, the Co-op shipwrights can guide you in making the right choices. The Carlile II awaits launch after installation of a new prop.
