On a sailboat, having the proper rigging can mean the difference between a safe and pleasant journey and a disaster at sea. The chain plates that attach the rigging to the hull, the shrouds and stays that support the mast, and the tangs and shackles that fasten the wire rope to the mast need to be the right size and material for your vessel and the conditions you plan to sail in.

Spars are, of course, another essential component of the sailing rig. There are many types of materials to choose from, including wood, metal, and composites-each with their own set of advantages and disadvantages. The Co-op is able to build any size wooden spar, hollow or solid.

On a work boat or fishing boat, rigging is important as well. Roll stabilizer poles, trolling lines, net trawl equipment, trap gear, cranes, and hoists need to be custom fit and properly built to your vessel in order to work efficiently and safely.

At the Co-op, the shipwrights will work with you to design and install the right rig for your needs, whether you're planning a pleasure cruise or a commercial fishing venture.
