Pete Rust

Pete Rust
Pete Rust graduated from the NW School of Wooden Boatbuilding and spent ten years working as an independent shipwright before joining the PTSC in 2005. He specializes in structural and fine woodwork. Pete has been longline fishing in Alaska and Washington and spent 4 years as First Mate on Neil Young's schooner, Ragland.
 

Ric Brenden


Ric Brenden has been a welder and metalworker for over 30 years. He is highly skilled in all aspects of metal fabrication. Ric not only has the unique ability to create high-end finish work on beautiful yachts, he also is an expert at complex structural components for working boats. He has been a member since 2000.

 

Chris Brignoli

Chris Brignoli
Chris Brignoli became a member in 2003. He is well versed in the strong analytical thinking skills necessary for his specialty—designing and installing electrical systems. Chris holds ABYC certifications in both Marine Electronics and corrosion. He is also an accomplished sailor with over 100,000 miles of offshore sailing under his belt.

 

Chris Chase


Chris Chase has been working as a shipwright in the Northwest for over 25 years. Chris has been a commercial tuna fisherman and is an avid fly fisherman. He joined the Co-op in 2001. His specialities include woodworking (fine and structural) and project management. Chris particularly enjoys the customer relations part of his job and believes the most important part of a project is making sure the client has a good experience

Arren Day

Arren Day moved to Port Townsend in 1998. Since then he has worked in the marine trades as a shipwright, rigger, mechanic and as a gifted machinist. He has also had been a commercial fisherman in Alaska, Oregon and Washington. Arren joined the PTSC in 2014.

Jeff Galey

Jeff Galey Jeff Galey became a member in 2010. Excelling in all areas, Jeff specializes primarily in woodworking and systems. Jeff enjoys offshore sailing when he gets the chance making sailboat deliveries to Hawaii and commercial fishing off the West Coast.

Dave Griswold


Dave Griswold has been a member since 2000 and specializes in woodwork and traditional yacht rigging. Dave has kept well connected to the maritime community through teaching workshops at the NW School of Wooden Boatbuilding, volunteering his time with the Sea Scouts and in the past acting as Board President for the Port Townsend Maritime Trades Association. 

Matt Henderson

Matt Henderson
Matt Henderson joined the PTSC in 2014. His specialty is electrical systems and is ABYC certified. He has been in the marine industry for over 20 years and has extensive offshore sailing experience. Matt prides himself on strong customer communication and strong return customer base.

Tim Lee


Tim Lee moved to Port Townsend in 1990 to attend the NW School of Wooden Boatbuilding. After 10 years of working locally in the marine trades Tim took a position as the chief instructor at the NW School of Wooden Boat Building where he taught for 13 years. Tim returned to the boatyard in 2014 to become one of PTSC newest members.

Todd Lee


Todd Lee
is a 5th generation resident of the Olympic Peninsula who has spent over 25 years in the Marine Trades working on boats up and down the West Coast. He understands everything there is to know about engines and was a highly sought after marine mechanic before jointing the Co-op in 2007.

Jim Lyons

Jim Lyons
Jim Lyons is our only remaining founding member. In 1981, along with seven other shipwrights, Jim started the Port Townsend Shipwrights Co-op. His specialty is woodworking and project management. With over 44 years working in the Boat Haven, Jim has had his hands on numerous boats from Oregon to Alaska.

Martin Mills

Martin Mills

Martin Mills graduated from the NW School of Wooden Boatbuilding and worked as an independent shipwright for several years prior to becoming a PTSC member in 2002. His expertise includes woodworking and mechanical systems. Martin's versatility and creative problem solving skills truly demonstrate a lifelong interest in boats. Martin and his family owns and operate the fishing tender Chichagof in Alaska during the Summer months.
